Why Do Women Ride A Motorcycle?

Everyone knows the old adage men are from Mars, women are from Venus, but according to a new survey men and women are not so different when it comes to why they ride a motorcycle. The nationally representative survey was conducted in July 2009 among 257 male riders and 252 female licensed motorcycle riders by Impulse Research Corporation on behalf of Harley-Davidson Motor Company.

Reader Story: Getting Past the Roadblocks

I am a flatbed truck driver. I ride a 2002 Harley-Davidson Road King that I bought from my brother and put 16,000 miles on in the first 13 months I had it. I have only been riding on my own for less than 2 years. Last November I fell from the top of a loaded flatbed, 7 feet in the air, head first. I shattered both my wrists, broke my nose and took 10 stitches in three places on my face. I had pins and external fixators on both my wrists for 10 weeks and lost all strength and flexibility on both.

READER MOTORCYCLE REVIEW: 2006 Victory Vegas 8-Ball

After several years of riding on a Honda Shadow Spirit 750, I decided to start saving my money for what I thought would be a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy. After all, I wouldnt spend that kind of money on a car without testing various brands and models.

Margaret Meyer, a rider with her husband, Bruce, came up with the idea for motorcycle specific jeans ones that “give” and are comfortable instead of binding on the legs when sitting in a saddle all day.

Genevieve Goes to the 2009 Sturgis Rally

The official attendance numbers for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 2009 are not been tallied yet, but judging by being there all week during the first week in August and comparing the event to other years both attendance and vendor participation were significantly down to be expected in a recession year. However a few less tens of thousand motorcyclists doesnt affect the fun and revelry that goes on and this year was no different.
