The third annual Femmewalla all-women track day started off cold and damp but ended with new skills learned, new friendships formed and lots of smiles. Strong turnout made it clear that Femmewalla has come a long way since the inaugural event in 2010.

Superstar motorcycle racer Elena Myers, who we featured back in March when she became the first woman to win at Daytona, continues to make strides in her racing career, bringing home eighth place in last weekends AMA Pro SuperSport Races. Myers and her Suzuki GSX-R600 were armed and ready for battle at the 2.2-mile, 14-turn track at New Jersey Motorsports Park.

There’s a reason why so many women choose the Suzuki GSX-R600 when shopping for a sportbike. The chassis and seat are narrow and relatively low, allowing for an easy reach to the ground for even the shortest of riders (that includes me, at 5-foot-2). Throttle response is smooth but powerful enough to feed the jollies fluttering around in your stomach in anticipation of a ride on this bike.
