READER PRODUCT REVIEW: Slix Kevlar-Lined Riding Jeans

Stunt rider Leah Petersen needs the best protection possible when doing wheelies and other stunts on her Kawasaki Ninja 636. She recently purchased Draykos Slix jeans, a feminine, leather-like jean that is actually denim lined with Kevlar and another abrasion-resistant material. Being safe and wearing protective gear is a requirement for Leah in her work of stunt riding. Check out her video review.

A New Kind of Leather Motorcycle Jacket

One of my great finds walking among the vendors at Arizona Bike Week in Scottsdale in April was Lycaon Custom Leathers. The high fashion stylish nature of the leather jackets hanging on the rack catches my eye. These are no ordinary riding jackets. I learn that each jacket is tanned with hydrology tanning technology, which has revolutionized the leather tanning process. This allows the leather to be cleaned by putting it in the washing machine.

PRODUCT REVIEW: Olympia Moto Sports Airglide Pants and Jacket

I am riding along the spine of the Middle Atlas mountains when the electrical storm hits. Hail pelts my helmet and bolts of lightening streak horizontally across the snow-dusted road ahead of me. There’s no shelter where I can pull over to bundle up under my gear, but thankfully I’d zipped the waterproof liner in before I’d headed uphill.

Generously Sized Riding Jackets

In response to her customers telling her that her motorcycle riding jackets need more room in the bust Shelly Reiner, owner Girl Gear Apparel, redesigned her line of textile jackets to accommodate this need. Shelly says, “I am excited about the sizing because it is better suited to fit the chest and front of women. Some of my friends who only fit in mens jackets are able to fit into these sizes.”

New Harley Apparel Line Supports Breast Cancer Cause

Its an unwritten rule in motorcycling culture to stop for a distressed rider. Of course, rider ethics go well beyond the open road as motorcyclists often stop on the journey of life to help those in need – rider and non-rider alike. In the spirit of that support, Harley-Davidson is introducing a new clothing line designed to aid those touched by breast cancer.
