Next June, tens of thousands of Harley-Davidson riders and fans from around the globe are expected to make their way to Rome, Italy, to celebrate Harley-Davidson’s 110th anniversary and the shared passion for freedom that unites riders everywhere.

The Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge is gearing up for another incredible cross-country ride beginning on August 5, and organizers are seeking riders to participate. This year’s epic chapter of the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge starts in Las Vegas and travels through some of the most scenic roads the US, including 17 national forests, 18 reservations and 25 state parks, before it ends seven days later in New York. Women riders are encouraged to sign up.

The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is three months away, and with it comes the second annual Biker Belles Ride, a charity event celebrating the passion, diversity and spirit of women in motorcycling.

Roar Motorcycles, based just near Daytona Beach, Fla., recently came onboard as a supporter of Women Riders Now. We’re excited to help promote what Roar has going on as the only female-focused motorcycle dealership in the country that is also manufacturing a custom-built motorcycle designed with women in mind.

Harley-Davidson licensed fine artist David Uhl unveiled his latest painting in his “Woman of Harley” series last week, and it features none other than 86-year-old rider Gloria Tramontin Struck, portrayed in her early days as a motorcyclist. Just got word that the Biker Belles 2012 ride date has been announced. It will take place on August 8, 2012 (a Wednesday), during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. The schedule and format of the ride looks much the same as last year, but of course we’re hoping that three times as many women will show up.

The Long Beach stop of the Progressive International Motorcycle Show series, scheduled for December 9-11, is typically one of the biggest and most exciting shows on the tour, with a number of well-known motorcycle riders making appearances. This is because much of the motorcycle industry is based in Southern California, so it’s easy for industry representatives to be there.
