Four Women Compete in Cross-Country Motorcycle Event

Four women are participating in this year’s Motorcycle Cannonball Endurance Run, taking place September 5 – 21, 2014, the largest number of female participants since the coast-to-coast vintage motorcycle endurance rally began in 2010. They women are all riding pre-1936 motorcycles, which makes the journey all the more challenging.

Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone

This motorcycling adventure took me to places in my head I didn’t want to go at my age, places I’d been shying away from quite frankly. Falling off the bike, stalling out the bike, being in the “slow” group—these things made me feel defeated and beaten down. This adventure pushed me beyond my comfort zone, forcing me to dig deep and muster up the strength and courage to get back on the bike despite the bruised ego.

Event Coverage: Biker Belles Ride at Sturgis 2014

The message of support for women in motorcycling was loud and clear at the Biker Belles celebration, an event organized by the Sturgis Buffalo Chip during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally for its fourth year. Designed to bring together women in motorcycling as well as their families and friends, this symposium, ride and reception was well attended by both women and men alike.
