The motorcycle industry will contribute $2.8 million in funding through the Motorcycle Safety Foundation to the Oklahoma Transportation Center for the new Motorcycle Crash Causation Study. Demonstrating the motorcycle industrys continued commitment to motorcyclist safety, the commitment represents 30 percent more than the dollar for dollar match of federal funding required by the Transportation Reauthorization bill (SAFETEA-LU) enacted in 2005.

Popular motorcycle photographer Michael Lichter will hold his 7th annual motorcycle-themed exhibit at the Sturgis Rallly in August located at Thunder Road venue. “One World Choppers” is the name of this years show inspired by “The British Invasion” of music from 1964-1966.

For the second year in a row, the BMW K 1200 GT is one of the top 10 motorcycles for 2007 according to editors of Cycle World magazine. At the 32nd Annual Cycle World Ten Best Bikes awards dinner, the BMW K 1200 GT received the magazines award for Best Sport-Touring Bike, the category for motorcycles designed for sport/adventure riding, covering long distances over multiple days.

Plans are in full swing for Advanstar Communications 27th annual Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows (IMS) presented by Toyota. The series will begin its 13-city nationwide tour on October 26, 2007, in Phoenix at the University of Phoenix Stadium and concludes February 10, 2008, in Chicago, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center.
