Femmoto 2007 is now in the history books and will be remembered as a groundbreaking year for the all-women demo ride event. More attendees, more manufacturers and an expanded schedule of events made this, the sixth year of Femmoto, the biggest one yet.

Betsy Huelskamp, columnist for WomenRidersNow.com, will be featured in “Everest 2: Beyond The Limit” an eight-part series debuting on the Discovery Channel Tuesday, October 30 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. Betsy was part of a climbing team that attempted to summit Mount Everest last spring. The expedition was videotaped for the second season of the Mt. Everest TV series.

As I write this, our very own Backroads With Betsy columnist, Betsy Huelskamp, is on a plane on her way to New York City to view the first installment of “Everest 2: Beyond the Limit,” the TV series on Discovery Channel that starts airing Tuesday night, October 30th.
For the past seven years, women have had the opportunity to demo ride manufacturers motorcycles on a track without the presence of men or their testosterone at an event called Femmoto.

My ride around my former home state of New Jersey this year was all the more memorable because of the motorcycle I was using, Moto Guzzis new Norge 1200. The 2007 model comes in a vibrant Italian red or silver. I was loaned the red version.

Twelve new members are now part of the Motorcycle Hall of Fame. They were inducted during an evening ceremony held in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday, October 6, 2007. Rex Beauchamp, Bob Greene, Pat Hennen, Professor Harry Hurt, Mike Kiedrowski, Sammy Miller, Trampas Parker, Derek and Don Rickman, Orie Steele, Sr., Billy Uhl and Ed Waldheim are the newest additions to the Motorcycle Hall of Fame.

My new favorite motorcycle is the Harley-Davidson Rocker. This is a big deal because I dont grant this title lightly.
