American Honda is adding four new cruisers for 2010, one of them being a new Shadow, one of Hondas longest running and most popular model lines among women riders. These join the Fury and the Phantom, 2010 models released earlier this year.

Women Riders Now was the first to report that Harley-Davidson is planning a two-day womens event in May 2010 as part of Women Riders Month, now held annually. Today Harley-Davidson is officially announcing its plans to commemorate the 2nd Annual Women Riders Month by hosting women riders in its hometown of Milwaukee, Wis., on May 22 and 23, 2010.

The annual winter motorcycle consumer trade show known as the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show starts in two weeks in Dallas and then moves to 10 more cities during the 29th annual nationwide tour. Genevieve Schmitt and Women Riders Now will be part of the women and motorcycling booth at the Seattle show December 11-13, 2009, positioned right next to the women riders lounge, an exciting feature at the shows.

Harley-Davidson will lay out the red carpet for thousands of women riders of all brands of motorcycle to come to Milwaukee May 22-23, 2010 for an event called “Celebrate Women Riders.” Leslie Prevish, Harley-Davidson’s Manager of Womens Outreach, announced the event during her speech at AMA International Women Motorcycling Conference in August.

When the Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe was introduced in 2005 many women gravitated to it because it boasted the lowest seat height of any Harley at the time 24.5 inches. In four years, its become one of the more popular motorcycles for women riders. For many women, being able to reach the ground on a big Softail as this is very confidence inspiring.

Like motorcycle jackets, were finally seeing more boot makers producing motorcycle riding footwear specifically for the female foot. WRN contributor Pam Collins recently tested the TCX Sunray boots and found she now reaches for these boots more than any other riding shoes in her closet now. She says they have many attributes a woman wants in a riding boot.

Everyone knows the old adage men are from Mars, women are from Venus, but according to a new survey men and women are not so different when it comes to why they ride a motorcycle. The nationally representative survey was conducted in July 2009 among 257 male riders and 252 female licensed motorcycle riders by Impulse Research Corporation on behalf of Harley-Davidson Motor Company.

With the theme “Riding to New Heights,” the 2009 American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) International Women Motorcycling Conference, presented by Harley-Davidson and Buell, wrapped up in Keystone, Colo., on Sunday following four inspired days of riding, learning and networking in one of the best riding areas in the United States.
