An impressive list of sponsors are coming on board in support of the fifth annual Women’s Sportbike Rally taking place in the Great Smoky Mountains September 10-12. Women Riders Now recently signed on as an affiliate level sponsor for the second time, while Draggin’ Jeans has signed on as presenting sponsor for the third year in a row.

The 70th annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is now history and by all accounts the 7-day official event that ended Sunday, August 15, is shaping up to be a record attendance year with early estimates around 600,000, up from the 442,000 in 2009. The increase was expected as milestone-rally years like the 70th always attract larger crowds.

Harley-Davidson and Suzuki are introducing several new models for 2011. Harley-Davidson is debuting the new SuperLow, on which Women Riders Now editor Genevieve Schmitt got an exclusive test ride. Also for 2011 is the race inspired XR1200X, and the Road Glide Ultra, a new touring model. In addition, four CVO models are being unveiled.

Women Riders Now was the was the first media outlet to report on a very special event happening as part of Women Riders Month called Celebrate Women Riders put on by Harley-Davidson where women from around the world will join together in Milwaukee on May 22 and 23, 2010. Now The Motor Company is releasing its schedule of activities that is open to the public and to all brands of motorcycles.

The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has a new initiative to recruit motorcyclists to join Americas leading motorcycling advocacy organization: the AMA Member Getter program. The AMA Member Getter program provides incentives to existing AMA members to enlist new members for the Association.

Women riders from all over the world will gather in Milwaukee May 22-23, 2010 for Harley-Davidsons “Celebrate Women Riders,” an event open to all female motorcyclists regardless of what brand or style of motorcycle they ride. The event will feature demo rides and other activities all taking place at the Harley-Davidson Museum.

The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is reminding riders that they may be eligible for a federal tax deduction on their 2009 taxes if they bought a new motorcycle last year. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act a landmark $787 billion economic stimulus package that President Barack Obama signed into law in February 2009 provides a deduction for state and local sales and excise taxes paid on the purchase of qualified new vehicles from Feb. 17 through Dec. 31, 2009.
