READER MOTORCYCLE REVIEW: 2006 Victory Vegas 8-Ball

After several years of riding on a Honda Shadow Spirit 750, I decided to start saving my money for what I thought would be a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy. When I was ready to make my big purchase, I decided that I should probably test ride a few other bikes. After all, I wouldnt spend that kind of money on a car without testing various brands and models.

REVIEW: Riding Specific Jeans

Ive been riding a motorcycle for 20 years and in all that time Im usually wearing Levi jeans. I was introduced to Biker Premium Jeans earlier this spring, jeans made specifically for riding. Margaret Meyer, a rider with her husband, Bruce, came up with the idea for motorcycle specific jeans ones that “give” and are comfortable instead of binding on the legs when sitting in a saddle all day.

Genevieve Goes to the 2009 Sturgis Rally

The official attendance numbers for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 2009 are not been tallied yet, but judging by being there all week during the first week in August and comparing the event to other years both attendance and vendor participation were significantly down to be expected in a recession year. However a few less tens of thousand motorcyclists doesnt affect the fun and revelry that goes on and this year was no different.

Genevieve Goes to the Sturgis Rally 2009 Part 1

Those who know me know Im a big fan of one rally the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. I love the Black Hills area of South Dakota so much that Ive been heading to the big event the first week in August for the last 14 years. I skipped just one rally in 2002. Ive seen lots of changes over the years, including a noticeable increase in women riders this year. Id say nearly one in five bikes was ridden by a woman.

PRODUCT REVIEW: Scala Rider Q2 Motorcycle Intercom System

Communicating with other motorcyclists while riding can become a somewhat creative endeavor often involving various gestures, hand signals, horn beeping and muffled shouting usually never heard outside a helmets confines. The Scala Rider Q2 Multi-Set communication system by Cardo Systems, Inc. remedies the problem, making helmet-to-helmet communication a much simpler and less eventful task.
