With the countrys economy and political status full of uncertainty, a majority of the population is cutting back. They are cutting back on all spending, but in particular, on anything that involves gasoline. This doesnt work for me, as many of my favorite toys are powered by gasoline. It is most certainly logical to cut back on things that seem to be a luxury, but I have always considered travel to be more of a necessity than a luxury.

I just returned from Harley-Davidsons 105th anniversary celebration in Milwaukee, but before I blog about that, I have to catch you up on Sturgis, and more news I heard this week. Harley stuff to come in a future blog. The big talk around Sturgis this year – as well as after the rally, was about how low attendance was compared to last year. Funny, I noticed a bigger drop-off in 2007, but nobody was making a big deal about it then.

OK it may not be for everybody, but I LOVE IT! I finally have the bike paint job I want. JoAnn Bortles of CrazyHorsePainting exceeded my expections and then some. The flat, matte, rough finish paint job is exactly what I envisioned when I bought my new 2008 Harley-Davidson Street Glide in January and sent off the black painted parts to her to do her magic.

Women Riders Now, is organizing a top-notch women riders symposium held during Ohio Bike Week in June. Its called “Women Riders: No Limits” presented by Motolight. Ohio Bike Week is a week long rally taking place in Sandusky, Ohio, near the shores of Lake Erie from June 6 through 15.
