Event Recap: California Moto Market at Roland Sands Design

Shopping for women’s gear has never been so much fun!

I have three words to summarize my advice when you hit one of the 2022 California Moto Markets: Bring. Your. Wallet. You’re going to enjoy shopping!

Moto Market founder Caitlin Maher and her team work hard to assemble an excellent assortment of gear and goodies for female motorcycle enthusiasts at these shopping events. Having recently been to the Long Beach International Motorcycle Show, I thought I had a handle on all the interesting apparel options currently available for women. I was delighted to be wrong when my eyes were opened to so many more options at the Moto Market December 11 and 12, 2022 at Roland Sands Design in Long Beach, California.

Many of the vendors generously contributed items to be raffled off at the event. Caitlin and her team were able to donate over $800 to Moto F. A. M. thanks to the generosity of the vendors and shoppers at the event.
Long-time WomenRidersNow.com supporter Debra Chin brought her company’s full set of offerings to showcase at the Market. Motochic’s original Lauren bag WRN reviewed here remains a WRN staff favorite. Current offerings also include base layer tops, socks, hats, and so many other goodies.
Some of the more unique items to the Market were brought by the McRey sisters of McRey Motocross Co. who are targeting the fast growing “dirty girl” niche of off-road riders.
McRey Motocross Co. jerseys, shown here in prototype and available soon on its website (Mccreymx.com), feature feminine designs and smart touches like side snaps to allow maneuverability when riding in the dirt.
The first item I had to make room for in my already-tightly-packed tail bag was this MotoRugger rugby style jersey. I couldn’t resist the sporty design and high quality fabric shirt.
One of my favorite features of Stellar’s product lineup is that Founder Jenna Stellar (middle) didn’t sacrifice function for fashion. Its Rosie the Riveter style coveralls (shown here in pink) are made of Dyneema to ensure abrasion resistance and are available in custom colors. Contact Jenna with any color you’d like.
A great feature of the Moto Market is the ability for people to touch and feel the items available. Here Corinne Mayer of Atwyld enjoys watching shoppers inspect their great lineup of leather and textile gear offered at Sample Sale prices for the show.
The Moto Market isn’t just about apparel. Here are Nicole Robinson (left), a.k.a. “Bounty” because she used to be a bounty hunter, and Teresa Ley (right) of Miss Fix Moto. Launching in 2022, the pair plans to launch a do-it-yourself garage to include DIY repair classes, space rentals, tool rentals, and more in Santa Fe Springs, California.
Katy Zales, founder of Shoppe 815, integrates our love of candles with our love of unique scents. Her lineup includes scents like leather, denim, campfire (another of my purchases), and even gasoline and motor oil! Katy jokes that there actually is no gasoline in the candle, thankfully.
Breaking Hearts and Burning Rubber has expanded its line from fashionable and functional riding boots to now include affordable and stylish leather riding jackets.
Me, Caitlin, and Sacha Braddock hanging out at the Market in the super-cool venue provided by one of the industry’s best custom motorcycle builders, Roland Sands.
Fast Dolls owner and designer Melissa Gage provided a nice selection of apres ride athleisure options.
She Wolf Moto Co's Christina Marin brought some of my favorite t-shirt designs.
Nine Lives Moto founder Bridget Dillon had my favorite of the denim jacket options.
Ash and LB of Not A Boy designs provided their array of pins and stickers.
Heather Burrows and her wife are all smiles in their Let The Wild In booth.
