Harley-Davidson unveiled its new lineup of 2014 motorcycle models Sunday at its annual dealer meeting. While the stars of the show were Project Rushmore and the long list of enhancements to the companys touring line of motorcycles, we’re also excited about improvements to the bikes the majority of female riders choose these days, midsize cruisers and Sportsters.
The Sportster family of motorcycles, otherwise known as the XL platform, comprises Harley-Davidsons entry level motorcycles. There are seven models. XL is the designation of the chassis or frame around which the Sportsters are built. They all have five speeds, a belt drive, and fuel injection comes standard. Shown is the 1200 Sportster Custom.
