Sportbike Chic Camouflage Pants for Motorcycle Riders

Comfortable and protective riding pants

When small business owner LaShundra (Sean) Rucker reached out to us at WomenRidersNow.com about her newest motorcycle apparel, I quickly called “dibs” on reviewing the Camouflage pants. I’ve been checking out the gear from Sean’s company, Sportbike Chic for years and am impressed with the quality, features, styles, and value of her pieces.

Sportbike Chic Camouflage pants are made with abrasion-resistant Aramid fiber and lined with Kevlar. Soft flexible CE level 2 armor in the hips and knees complete the protective features.

Available in regular and tall heights as well as petite sizing, the Camo pants cost $160, a great value for all the protective features built in.

Camouflage Pants — Can You See Me Now?

Despite the extra risk of wearing camouflage gear which is designed to make you less visible in certain conditions, I love the look of this pant. But I am very aware that we riders are invisible to other traffic, no matter what we wear.

Riding pants need to fit great and offer full-day-in-the-saddle comfort, and Sportbike Chic’s Camouflage pants fill these requirements perfectly. I love the look and feel of the big exterior pockets (front and back), high waist, and fitted leg.

The Camouflage pants come in petite, long, and regular sizes ranging from 0 to 24. Petites have a 29-inch inseam, regulars get a 33-inch inseam, and tall has a 36-inch inseam. Ordering my usual size, a 14 regular (even though I’ve grown a tad in recent years), the fit is almost perfect. My extra belly makes the waistline just a tad tighter than I wish for, but not so much that it’s unwearable.

Sportbike Chic clothing fits bigger girls like me as well as smaller women. This extra high “ruching” provides plenty of coverage out back.

Waist adjusters on both sides and an elasticized band in back help different-sized riders get the perfect fit. Belt loops are included as well.

cinched pant leg
A thoughtful feature on the Camouflage pants, the ties on each pant leg allow you to cinch them tight which keeps air and elements out, and prevents them from getting hung up on a footpeg or shifter.

Safety Features on the Camouflage Pants

Riding pants wouldn’t be worth anything without crash protection built in, and Sean and her team know this. Made of sturdy abrasion-resistant Aramid fiber with generous Kevlar panels sewn in, the camouflage pants are as tough as they look. I tend to steer away from Kevlar pants because they can be heavy and hot, but the Camo’s incorporate cotton and spandex which offers a light and flexible feel.

On the Camouflage pant front, the Kevlar goes from the waist all the way down below the knee.

Kevlar and Aramid protect your skin in a slide, but impact protection comes from the Camouflage pants’ Level 2 armor in the hips and knees.

The armor is easily removable thanks to generously-sized pockets that keep it in place.
Flexible armor
The soft and pliable armor is among the most comfortable I’ve tested. And thankfully, the hip armor doesn’t make me look extra curvy.

The knee armor pocket has a long strip of Velcro that enables riders to position it exactly where they want it. (This pocket goes inside another pocket inside the pant leg.)

Convenience and Comfort

Having worn Sportbike Chic’s Camouflage pants for a few months, I can attest to their sturdiness and comfort, both on and off the bike. Because they aren’t bulky or heavy, except for very hot and humid days, I even wear them while teaching motorcycle safety classes.

The hand warmer pockets are generously sized and I love how the large exterior pockets offer extra storage for things like my phone, money, keys, and more. There are two in front and two in back, and they all have a flap that buttons closed.
