We were excited when we met Kelly Motherwell of Motherwell Products because his company manufacturers luggage racks for motorcycles with solo seats. These luggage racks mount on the rear fender behind the solo rider seat. And many readers of Women Riders Now ride without a passenger and have a solo seat attached to their bike.

This is Motherwells signature solo luggage rack. Each luggage rack is constructed from solid steel, TIG welded, hand polished, then chromed to a show quality finish.

Motherwell solo seat luggage racks follow the curve of the fender so they actually enhance the overall look of the motorcycle.

Motherwell also makes detachable luggage racks so they are easily removed when youre not using it.

Although the focus is on luggage racks which accommodate Harley-Davidson models, by request of his customers, Kelly has also created luggage racks to compliment a few other models such as the Honda VT750 Shadow Aero for 2004 and up models, and the Triumph America and Speedmaster models up to 2011. 1 thought on Solo Seat Luggage Racks and Detachable Racks for Motorcycles

  1. I decided last year that I wanted to go to a solo seat. Hubs very obligingly took the stock seat and backrest off. I found a “new to me” solo Mustang seat, and bought a new Mustang fender bib. Then the hunt was on for a rack that would fit my 2002 Kawasaki Vulcan 800 Classic. Finally ended up buying a rack made for a Harley and customized it to fit my bike (thanks to YouTube!). I am thrilled with the way my bike looks. I can still strap on a luggage bag and secure it to the bike for travel.
