February is well-known for the holiday that reminds many people that they are on life’s journey as a solo rider. While Valentine’s Day can be a joyful celebration of love for some people, we haven’t forgotten about those who are looking to find love.
We motorcyclists are in a class of our own, which can both help find love and weed out potential partners. Motorcycle riders usually have a strong sense of adventure, independence, and a passion for travel. Relationships usually start with common interests, so starting your search for another motorcyclist is a great way to find love.
Meet Riders…and Possibly Find Love
WRN’s article “9 Ways to Make a New Riding Buddy” is full of ideas on how to connect with more riders. And making more riding friends is one easy way to potentially finding that one special Valentine connection. Here are some specific examples:
Join a Motorcycle Club
Motorcycle riding groups and clubs can be great places to meet others who enjoy the same lifestyle. Just making more friends within the community may lead indirectly to finding that special love connection.
There are hundreds of women-only motorcycle riding groups across the U.S. and globally (listed on this page on WRN). But consider expanding your membership beyond our listings to groups that include men as well.
Attend a Motorcycle Event
There are countless motorcycle rallies, events, and shows that attract passionate motorcyclists. Whether it’s a large motorcycle festival, charity ride, or a local meet-up, these events provide a fantastic opportunity to meet fellow enthusiasts in a relaxed setting. In addition, volunteering to help out charity rides or events can be a way to meet others who share your values and passion for biking--and giving back.

Dating Apps and Web Communities
Many motorcycle groups on Facebook and Instagram have active members who share rides, events, and sometimes even romantic connections. Search for large social media groups in your region, and consider attending some rides to make new connections.
Biker Planet is a dating site and app specifically for motorcycle riders. Whether you are looking for a man or woman, you can organize your search by region and know that you share common ground.
While not motorcycle-specific, well-known mainstream apps like Tinder, Bumble, and OKCupid allow you to mention your love of riding in your profile and search for fellow enthusiasts using interest/hobby or keyword filters.
Motorcyclists First Date Ideas
Most dates include food and drink with an opportunity to talk to get to know one another. While simply going for a ride can be the beginning of a great date idea, you’ll want time to talk, too. Consider a scenic back-country ride with a stop to enjoy time talking in a serene quiet place together. Or just pre-plan to ride to a public destination such as a coffee shop or restaurant.

Always use caution, though! If you’re nervous to be alone together, make sure your picnic area is within view of other travelers. Just like riding on a solo tour, use common sense and let someone know what your plans are ahead of time. Consider sharing your location on your smartphone with them.
If you are comfortable being alone with a new date, consider riding to a park and going for a hike. Sometimes walking together allows plenty of opportunity to talk with less pressure than a face-to-face situation.
Other places you might consider going on a first date include attending a motorcycle race, a bike night or custom bike show, or a dealer event. Even if it’s not riding season, you can find places to share your passion with each other and bond over similar interests, such as a motorcycle museum.
