The new Harley-Davidson Museum, near downtown Milwaukee, will open its doors to the public on Saturday, July 12. Festivities will begin with a grand opening ceremony at 10 a.m. and will continue throughout the weekend.
The 130,000-square-foot museum is located on a 20 acre site along the Milwaukee waterfront at the intersection of Sixth and Canal Streets in Milwaukees Menomonee Valley. It will be open 364 days a year.
The museum will feature more than 450 motorcycles, and exhibits that tell the stories of the people, products, history and culture of Harley-Davidson through a variety of media – including photographs, videos, apparel, rare documents and other artifacts. Personalized messages created by individuals worldwide are built into the structure on rivets found along the Living the Legend walls and plazas.
General admission tickets are $16 for adults, $12 for students and seniors, $10 for children (ages 5 to 17 years), and children under 5 years of age will be admitted free with an accompanying adult. Access to the Harley-Davidson Museum grounds will be available to the public, free of charge, 24 hours a day.
Visitors during grand opening weekend will be able to enjoy watching a bike-build, a tattoo artist at work and listening to live music.
