Annick Magac and Her Féroce Podcast
Whether you are a new rider, a seasoned rider, or you don't ride at all, Féroce will inspire you to live fiercely. In this original motorcycle podcast, host Annick Magac, interviews riders from around the world and shares their unique stories of riding and life. Many of the motorcyclists interviewed on Féroce, have very normal day jobs. Outside of work and family, the creativity and wildness comes out whether they are writers, builders, or adventurers.
About the Host, Annick Magac
Annick bought her first motorcycle at age 21 while living in New York City. A complete newbie, she took her freshly purchased unreliable vintage bike on her first ride where she promptly broke down on the Brooklyn Bridge. As she pushed the motorcycle off the bridge followed by a long angry honking line of traffic, she quickly learned that riding is not for the faint of heart.
Oddly, that event cemented a love affair with all aspects of riding. Magac learned how to tear down and rebuild an engine. She went on to race a Honda RS125 for several years in the Championship Cup Series (CCS) and American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA.)
Magac’s new podcast, Féroce, is where she shares stories of people who ride in hopes of inspiring her audience to “live fiercely.” In addition to the interviews, she has several episodes where she discusses the culture of riding and other interesting moto-related topics.
Empowering Women Riders
Early in her career, Magac worked for several motorcycle dealerships and has always been motivated to empower women to get involved in motorcycling and racing. She has authored women’s riding gear and motorcycle reviews to various motorcycle publications and social media platforms.
“Motorcycling has been a long-time passion of mine. It thrills me to share this sport and lifestyle with others,” she says.
In Féroce episode 09, Magac interviews WomenRidersNow.com (WRN)’s Sarah Schilke who discusses her career journey of advocating for women riders. From motorcycle safety instructor to high-level positions at major motorcycle companies and her involvement in organizations like the FIM’s Commission for Women in Motorcycling. The conversation also highlights her co-ownership of WRN, the #1 resource for women in motorcycling, revealing insight into her future goals.
On Féroce Episode 04, Magac introduces author C. Jane Taylor who took up riding at 50 and rode cross-country with her family as a graduation gift for her son. The adventure became a book called Spirit Traffic.
Féroce Episode 11 features Valerie Figarella, owner of MotorGrrl, a community motorcycle garage in Brooklyn, NY. Figarella discusses her journey in establishing the business, and overcoming initial challenges like securing a lease and funding. The result is she has built a thriving community around motorcycle repair and riding. Figarella highlights the value of hands-on learning through her internship program.
