Black Bikers Featured in Ebony Magazine

Octobers Ebony magazine is featuring an article on the the black biker culture by focusing on the National Bikers Roundup, an annual rally for African-American motorcyclists. Entertainer Queen Latifah is photographed for the cover sitting on a custom bobber motorcycle.

According to an Ebony press release: Ebony delves into the $500 million-black-biker culture with a behind-the-scenes peek at the recent National Bikers Roundup held this year in Kansas City, Missouri. “We got two things we have to live down: Were black and were bikers,” says a Roundup organizer Bill Walker. “Bikers are just like everyone else. Its really a culture, and its not all sugar and cream.”

Hip-hop entertainer Queen Latifah is featured because shes promoting a new CD and clothing. The 37-year-old actress/singer, whos real name is Dana E. Owens, is shown on custom bobber motorcycle exhibiting her adventurous dressed in a cat suit and patent leather.

The October Ebony hits stands Monday, September 10.
