For the first time since its inception, The American Motorcycling Associations (AMA) International Women Motorcycling Conference has a presenting sponsor. Harley-Davidson and Buell have announced they have signed on as the first presenting sponsor of the four-day all-women event. The conference will be held June 30 to July 3, 2006 in Athens, Georgia. “Women make up a large and growing segment of the motorcycle riders,” said Rebecca Bortner, Harley-Davidson Communication Project Manager. “We believe our involvement with the event will strengthen our relationship with current riders and foster relationships with future riders.”
Harley-Davidson Vice President of Enthusiast Services Lara Lee will be the keynote speaker at the event. The Motor Company has been involved with the AMAs three previous women conferences held in 1997, 2000 and 2002. “Were thrilled that Harley-Davidson and Buell are, once again, involved with the AMA Women Motorcycling Conference, this time as presenting sponsor,” said Robert Rasor, AMA President. “This generous support will help make the 2006 conference a valuable experience for all who attend.”
The Women Motorcycling Conference provides female riders a chance to test ride demo bikes from participating manufacturers, attend seminars, and visit vendors with products specific to women. Its also a great opportunity to network with other female motorcyclists. For more information on the conference, visit http://www.womenandmotorcycling.comwww.womenandmotorcycling.com.
